For so many years this site has provided such valuable information and player insight ..... that is, through TDS. The current TBM expansion has almost nothing to offer this late into the expansion. I can only assume this is a result of very limited resources and diminished participation.

What are the future plans for the site and the next expansion?

A concerned SK.

As you say, much "player insight". At some point, more people need to post what they've learned, not just consuming what's here.

Not a poke at you, specifically, but it seems many people don't get that with fewer people posting about what they've learned in-game, there's ... wait for it..... less current info available.

"Almost nothing" is a bit harsh... granted TBM info is very spotty. For much of it, if you read the threads and the posts by users, you get enough info to get going at least.

The other volunteer admn have really boosted the "capture rate" of submitted information of late. TBM could very quickly get caught up if users posted more stuff and/or pointed out where we need to adjust info we already have.

As far as the next expac goes... now the volunteer team knows that nothing is autopopulated into the database outside of the bit that Lucy (item collector) does. Hopefully we can get some info rolling (at least templates set up such as with zone names) before the expac goes live. This will make a huge difference. Zam also has a developer looking into the item collector. Hopefully it is fixed soon and continues to work into the next expac launch.

back in Sept 5 2016 Allakhazam asked for volunteering to help with the site updates?
We are limited about what we can due as Vol.
I helped some in the past but I have never done the daily posts but I am planing to work more on TBM July and Aug
1. identify what is still missing from TBM
1a. I will need to retrain on how each thing is missing to add or link it in the system.
Their are rules that have some warnings in are training area.

next Fall 2016 expansion but we Vol. do not have access to the stuff a head of time.
The Map section took a while last time due to having to ask for help from a Devs to create the structor to be able to add the new zones we created.
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zone.html?zcont=The+Broken+Mirror

We can not add the Group and Raid coin to the system as TBM Coin.
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=124218
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=124194. .

1. all the spells I added to the new TBM Traq merchants last Fall I need to now go back and mark them TBM spells. (fixed)
when I added the spells Dec 08 2015 to the NPC the flag for TBM was not added yet.
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=50305

Now the Adv seach by class and TBM will see the spells, songs and tombs.
Spell upgrades Essence of Life and Essence of Decay - now marked TBM

I certainly didn't mean to insult or attack efforts to date --- and I do agree, 'almost nothing' was unfair as a general statement. I think what I was really trying to say is that the structure and formatting historically available is missing (almost nothing comment). My mistake/ignorance.

Having a structured 'progression and task list' .. listing all the zone tasks for example, would more easily allow for folks like me (or maybe just be!) to add content and experiences. And I'm apparently slower than a lot of people in past expansions --- most often details are already posted.

its because peeps still use Allk is why I Vol and want to update TBM. I am hoping the lessons learned with TBM issues of getting data in can be used to make the next expansion get data in faster.
So the Vol will ask ahead of time what we need from the DEV still active then.

^agreed.

Once we know the name of the expac we can get the Zam dev (although I think it is a new person vs. a legacy person that did it in the past) to create the expansion flag in the database.

Then we can create the zones. Old content was way easier because the zones were just zones. Now that we have variations on the same zones (instances) it is really important that we get told the information clearly... that didn't happen with TBM and I am still not sure if we actually have all the zones of the expac created and linked together correctly (example if someone tells us the only access to a zone is a quest NPC in plane of health then that is all we know).

Once the zones exist it is easier for users to post NPC's. A few users posted huge tracking lists early in TBM which accounts for the zones with high population counts... last I looked there was still TBM zones with almost no known NPC.

In the meantime item collector does its thing and some users post "it dropped of NPC _______" under those entries. If the NPC exists we can link it, otherwise we have to create the NPC entry then link it. If no one is running item collector in the new content we don't get the items (and of course if the item collector is broken no one can help anyways).

Quests/tasks/missions are way easier to enter when a user posting a submission gives us the simple breakdown (starting NPC & zone) and then a clearly written quest description. TBM had moments of a quest being submitted for a zone that didn't yet exist, items that hadn't been collected and NPC that were unknown... and the quest having to be rewritten to be understandable.
