The Handmaiden task Follow

Has anyone accomplished the task? If so how? We have had the named spawn and still missing 2 frantic that never spawned twice. Did this happen to anyone else?

Ridiculous that you can't re-kill named for skull to carry on in wipe IMO.

I had not done that task but from surfing around EQ sites on the net, I see people saying that if the person who got the task leaves the area by the "Statue Of Eternity" the Fanatics may poof and you get a message saying so, and also that your mission has failed. Some say the rest of the group should fight them at the nearby bridge but the task getter always stays near the Statue. Also, they say that if you unequip the Baton or Skull it will also cause the mission to fail.

Thanks, well for once they all spawned for us but after the kills and the hail to the "floating skull" we no longer had the skull on our person in order to get the update of return the skull. Try 5 :-(

If you wipe you can come back down and finish the kills but there is still no skull any longer so you lose. Frankly I don't see anyway for us to keep the adds mezed kill the High Boken AND have one player not move, plus stay alive, on the center platform.

I can tell you though that if your center person moves the fanatics and the High Boken do not poof, they start circling the center statue and continue to circle, you can pull and kill them but without the skull to no avail.

Yes, this quest seems to have some issues for people attempting it.

I am guessing that the "high DPS is a must" that some of the walk through's refer to, is at that point where you engage the waves of mobs before the High Boken spawns. You probably need to kill as many as possible before that named spawns..otherwise its an increased chance for pandemonium and wipe.

I doubt we will be able to keep the center player alive through the whole they are always attacked eventually as the named and all go to the center if we wipe. i think the skull should remain on the person if we get all to spawn, it is difficult enough coming back after rez and pulling as they move fast and cluster together. Shame they thought they need to make the group lose the skull also!

i think we had a FD'er on the Platform and the group was at the bottom by the stairs - pulling the adds to us and burning them as they spawn.

i redid the task last night.

I was the one who was tasked with equipping both items

you have to NOT MOVE after you equip them

other would pick up all adds some spawn 3 at one time - OT and Burn then down. Since I was a wiz I could help kill them but can't move for the win.


I even won the shinny on one of the mobs we killed.

Even not moving we had adds kill the person in the middle but we always get the bad boy Boken spawn right in the middle of all the rest so fast and he and all go to the middle as soon as the other wipe so no coming back and keeping going because the center person is simply going to die and lose the skull no matter what.

I think the peeps I was with remembered where each of the 10 mobs that pop are and were on top of them to grab them and keep argo.
but the peeps I was with are very open raid geared.

Our problem is that the High Boken does not spawn last, he spawns before the last 2-3 so we are able to keep the adds mezzed but he is on us all killing everyone before we can spawn the last fanatics. generally we only get 5 killed and hold the adds mezzed IF he spawned last like most people say it would work out I think.
