Seen some on the messages before hinting at great ways for a poor slob like me to avoid getting a life and play 2 accounts of EQ; and have a blast. Some suck....but most of my toons are in the lower 70's with 300 to 500 aa....babys. Many of you have had times in the past that a duo has kicked some mighty butt to do missions, epics, aa's and even just farm cash. Share thoughts plzzzzz. Im starting to get bored having to low armor (and cash) to play with the big boys.....but repitition at set spots is making my eyes bleed!! :-D Thank you for your time. I question at times because I like to hear the ideas of other players. Enjoy!!

I have tried all of these 2 boxes and they all are viable. Mercs make 2 boxing yummy fun in all flavors.

After 16 years, I'm not listing every friggin character.
Main is necro + war merc, box is Ench + clr merc. Not much is a problem and plenty of it is fun! This combo works great imo.

My main choice of alts is my necro w/healer merc and shammy w/ tank merc. With necro and shammy dots, the shammmy slows, buffs, and backup heals, I find very little, that I cant destroy. Granted, they are both 66, lol.
However, when I box my mains I have a much better time. Using my bst w/healer merc and wizzie w/ tank merc, I am mostly unstoppable.

Mage + enchanter with 2 healer mercs is fantastic. Pet tanks, enchanter mezzes adds plus gives twincast aura and mana reiterate aura, and slows, and gives a little DPS too. Forget doing this in UF but up to the end (non-raid) zones of SoD there isn't much you can't handle.
Since I have an abundance of characters in the 71-75 range, I've had lots of time to experiment. I'll note, these are all without mercs (have too many "real" clerics and tanks to have use for them) and doesn't include beastlords (don't like the class so I don't play it at all):
Monk-Shaman
SK-Shaman
Paladin-Druid
Mage-Mage
Mage-Druid
Mage-Cleric
Mage-Shaman
Mage-Wizard
Wizard-Wizard & Wizard-Druid (octokite)
Necro-Priest (any of the three)
Necro-Zerker & Druid-Zerker (aggro kiting)
Mage-Enchanter
Enchanter-Enchanter
Enchanter-Cleric (especially DE cleric as it gives an enchanter a somewhat key ability for charming)
Enchanter-Shaman (ditto, except Troll)
Bard-Cleric (or any priest, really)
Bard-Mage
Bard-Necro
Shaman-Rogue (did Sunderrock with this combo while working my Shaman's defensives up)
Really, the only limits are those you impose on yourself. I don't use mercs mainly because I have SO many tanks and clerics that need development that merc usage for me is like throwing away xp (not to mention the cash). With mercs, a rogue-rogue duo might even work using the 'Circle of Death' approach.

Thanks for the ideas! Used mu 85 Necro to help my Mage get aa.....sort of slow with 2 85. Used my 73 Shaman, of course it isnt non-stop like it was with Necro. But at least the Mage has gone over the 600 mark for aa. YAY!

Bard is my main, i recently goot a second account and started a mage.. bard/mage do very good.. use cler merc with bard so you can fade and suspend merc and run if things get hairy, then come back for resses.. but i started on the 51/50 server with 2 mages, they pown everything.. bard/necro is good too.. just use bards for DoTs (debuffs) and 2.5min selo, and regen. then just use necro to kite circles around the bard
If only some of the old raids like Anguish were "merc-able". 2 boxing is so powerful these days and no one wants to do Anguish for the 56000th time for orbs.

Mercs have helped.....I agree, to bad can not use them in some zones. But I guess some of the older game needs to survive! :-D

Can never have too many mages or wizzys imo.
