Trillon Cut Taafeite (for example) ??Follow

Alright, I'm confused (again). So this cut gem has some fantastic stats; 25 AC, etc. When combined with the ring to make a usable item, the resulting stats on the item are far less than that of the aug itself.

I see that the resulting ring has a type 7, and a type 9. What type of items with type 11 slots will take these cut augs and show stats???

Refer to this utility to help you out.

Basically you want to pick a metal type within 5 levels of the character to get the most out of it, i.e. from levels 56-65 use Palladium Trio metals.

Yeah, the rec level penalties on the trio jewelry are extremely harsh. My mage tried on the rec lvl 70 necklace at lvl 59 and the augments which should have given +300 mana instead gave +20 or so.

Thanks for the input, and for the helpful link which I've bookmarked.

The Trillon Cut Taafeite shows as a Type 11 Aug. Can it be used directly as an aug or is it only used to craft jewelery?

(edit: did someone rate me down in my original post? why would anyone do that??)

I'm pretty sure it's trio jewelry only. In fact, once they're in the jewelry, they still won't show stats until you put it on.

Before the final changes, you could put them in Cultural Wrists, but that was before the rec level front end scripting .. I haven't tried them since them, and not sure how it would work, if at all. But if the script as it does in the trio settings, then generally for the level the jewelry is better, whatever you're going for, AC, HPs, Mana, etc.

But even before the script addition, the jewelry was by far extremely way better than any cultural, as at first level, you could get max stats in dwerium settings. For that short time, you could of had a toon with well over 4K HPs (or was it 5K back then?) or Mana with only jewelry, add some good twink gear with stats, and you could of easily gotten over 6K, add GM casted Temerity and you're talking about close to 9K or more, at 1st level. Ok, enough about the rare super-twink era :D

Maybe someone has tested it out since they instigated the recommended level script, and let us know how it works in cultured wrists.

By the stated slots and aug slots, they should still go in cultural, just not sure how it would work, and will probably be limited by the recommended level of the cultural armor, just as it is in the trio settings.

**** EDIT ****
Ok, had time to make some Cultural wrists, and tried a couple stones out, both did absolutely nothing to change the stats .. Tried a Trilion Cut Sapphire for Regen, no regen added, Tried a Marquise Cut Crimson Nihlite for HPs, and got nothing.

So they will go in the Cultural wrists, but must be in Metal Trio setting to get any effects from them.

If I remember correctly the Extreme dropoff in stats when below the recommended level only applies if more than 10% below the recommended level. Once within that range (if it really is 10%, i forget) the stats use the normal, more reasonable, scaling for rec. level.

As an example I believe augs in Dwerium jewelry, Rec. 70, make a pretty large jump in stats between level 60 and 61. The augs seem to more or less double in stats at 61.
