Where Do the Screenshots Go?Follow

Hello!

On my old computer all my screenshots appear in the general EQ file. Since I am away from home for 15 months I bought a laptop and loaded a copy of the Platinum Edition onto it and it works great!

However I can't seem to find any screenshots I've taken while playing on my laptop. Do they go to a new file now?

Thanks in advance!

C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\Screenshots

That's where mine are stored.

IF you partioned the laptops hard drive to have a D: and installed it there then it's

D:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\Screenshots

I don't have a folder named Screenshots.

I'll add one and see what happens.

This is just a random guess since I don't know what else it may be, but since you mentioned you are now playing on a laptop it's possible you have never taken any screenshots successfuly.

The default "Take Screenshot" key is the minus key (-) on the numberpad.

Laptops usually do not have a seperate numberpad. You would need to use an external keyboard or turn on the laptop's alternate numberpad to get the correct screenshot key in that case. But EQ may not let you do that on your laptop since it makes your keyboard functions change sometimes to work with EQ. For example when in EQ the CAPS LOCK key is not recognized, and the NUMLOCK key is used to toggle autorun, so this key may not activate the alternate numberpad on your laptop.

What I would do is go into the options panel within EQ and map an alternate key command for taking screenshots on your laptop, then try that key. If you still don't have screenshots then I'm out of ideas.

Hope that helps or at least sheds some light on the situation.

If you're actually taking a screenshot...you get a message that says "you are taking a screenshot"

Do you get this message? if so, the picture is there somewhere on your computer. I believe EQ defaults the images into .bmp files and will actually name them 'screenshot 001' (I think).

Search all your EQ files for .bmp files, or 'screenshot'.

Just in case anyone is having an issue with this anymore. EQ now being through Daybreak games, I have an update. I have Windows 10.

In order to take a screenshot use the (-) key on your numeric keypad. It will store the file in a NEW folder under

Local Disc(c:)>Users>Public>Daybreak Game Company> Installed Games>Everquest>Screenshots

*note that this file will not appear until you take your first screenshot so dont even bother looking for it until you take one

Hope this helps!
