The trophies are evolving items that also evolve as you craft recipes within a certain non-trivial range (reportedly 100) above your current skill level.

I got PoR not too long ago so am just getting going on my TS trophies.

This is a quote from the quest page for the trophies here on Alla's.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what this means. I know your trophies evolve as you go from say an apprentice to a journeyman or journeyman to expert etc. But this statement above sounds like you can evolve your trophy by making a successful combine that is trivial at least 100pts above your skill???

Anyway I did but it didn't.

Has anyone ever evolved a trophy this way?

Also, I recently hit 200 in Jewelry making while my trophy was equipped and trophy didn't evolve. I'm assuming I need to get to 200 without the trophy mod before it will evolve again.

I accidently dropped my trophy on a rock right after I got it and I'm concerned it's now not working properly.

1. The trophy must be equipped. It doesn't matter which slot (can be in ranged for instance), but it can't just be in your inventory.

2. The trophy evolves with successful, non-trivial combines that are WITHIN 100 pts of your current skill. So, if your skill is 200 and you successfully combine something with a 350 trivial, no evolution. Successfully combine something with a 199 trivial, no evolution. Successfully combine something with a 299 trivial, you should get some evolution.

3. Make sure you "pre-evolve" your trophies. When you first get the trophy you get the beginner's trophy and a certificate if you have higher then beginner skill (100+). You have to equip the trophy and "combine" the certificate in that tradeskills container to evolve your trophy to the correct level, possibly partially evolved to the next level, depending on your current skill.

4. The trophy and your skill don't move at the exact same rate. If you are doing combines that don't yield successful combines for some reason but you skill up quickly, the trophy will lag. The reverse can happen if you get a lot of successful combines but slow skill ups. If you reach the next "level" before your trophy, the trophy will have accelerated evolution as long as you continue doing non-trivial combines (succuessfully of course). If the trophy reaches the next step before your skill, it will evolve to the next level but it will NOT evolve any further until your skill catches up. Clear as mud? :)

EDIT: Wanted to add one thing. A lot of people don't realize that you can "push" your trophy to the next level, even if you can't raise that skill any longer. Like, if you have brewing above 200 but don't want to spend the AA's to take another TS over 200, you can take that other TS to 200 and the trophy evolves to journeyman. You can continue to do combines that are trivial 210, never raise a skill point, but your trophy will continue to evolve to master level. Once it evolves to master it won't evolve any longer until you spend the AAs to take it above 200 and get the skill to master as well, but it's good to do if you want those little bit of extra stats/skill mod/weight reduction bag percentage.

Yep. Thanks for the info.

My skills at 193/200 (w/o mod/with mod) and my trophy is 3/7th evolved. It hasn't evolved in awhile now. I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong, but I guess I just need to be patient.

The quest-giver and the judge don't want to talk to me anymore about jewelry-making.

Bump and rate up for this very good post, Jiggidyjay! I was wondering how the TS trophys work for quite some time now, thanks for the clarification!

Also, don't do combines in the guildhall. Instances are bugged and won't eveolve your trophy.
