Anyone know of some (raid) mobs that 2-3 groups of 65-70 not really well equipped players could do? Most have spent their time grouping or soloing, not much raiding at all.

Are there any missions or such that can be done with 2-3 groups?

Appreciate any suggestions =)

ldon raids can't be done by two poorly geared groups.

The Hedge event in PoN is an 18 person maximum raid that flags you to face Terris Thule (PoP Progression)

The hedge has a time limit, would need decent dps from that small raid.

You could try some interesting Luclin targets:
The Cursed Cycle
A Couple of Rhags (They can drop KEI and RGC)
Thought Horror Overfiend
Akheva Targets (one linked but there are a few)
Lcea Katta (if you don't care about the faction)

You could do:

Grieg in Griegs End

Innorruuk and The Luggald Broodmother in Crypt of Nadox

Guardian of the Seal in The Hole

I'll second the Inny-Nadox raid. Most fun I've ever had on a small raid.

Definately Inny in Nadox...easily do-able with some tanks and a few groups...did the same when I was in that position :-)

I used to be the raid leader of a small guild that disbanded around the time WoW and EQ2 were released and was in a simliar position as you. I have to agree about Inny in Nadox being fun. My former guild usually had 12-20 players on during our raid nights, and Inny gave us a rough fight. (This is just before OoW was released and our members were mainly in pre-EP gear, level 65, and had 100AA on average.)

We had killed Doze in ToV's Halls of Testing previously, but killing Inny seemed like more of an accomplishment, since was was an actual god. Sure, by then Hate had been revamped for the second time and housed a harder version, but it was still a fun (and tough) fight for us at the time.

I really do suggest ToV too though as an option that hasn't been mentioned already. The loot is pretty outdated by now, but the dragons there are fun to fight and are good practice for other raid mobs you'll encounter later.

One other option that's not a really a raid is to use that time to coordinate guild groups for DoN single-group runs. Sure, you're not all together, but there won't be as much issue looking for pickup players, and the guild as a whole will likely benefit from the crystals. (More so than from most if not all the loot that's dropped from the raid mobs mentioned above.) The armor and weapons from crystals there can help you gear up for the tougher encounters much easier than a couple unwanted drops from a raid mob.

Whatever you do, the important thing is to make it fun for your guildmembers. I know firsthand that your guild's numbers are awkward to find content for, but hopefully just playing together with a common goal will make the raid enjoyable.

You people are suggesting soloable targets that are so easy they wont teach their guild anything about raiding together. I would suggest working through GoD if you can field 3 groups since the gear will be a lot better than drops off targets people suggested. And start doing the single group MPG trials they offer nice upgrades too. Also if you gear really is that awful then manditory DoN missions crystals and GM armor make for nice upgrades. Also do all of the DoDH missions you can since the cursor loot is nice and if you have at least 1 necro then you can do a few of them just by kiting.

Hey, Eagle-eye, did you even read the OP's message? I'd love to see you solo Inny, or Lcea Katta, or the Hedge event, with a mediocre geared level 65-70 character. Brilliant reply there, chief.

Did you read the post yourself? He said 2-3 groups not solo. Nothing in ToV or BoT is going to be an upgrade for anyone over lvl 65 not to mention even if they arent the best geared with a lvl 70 tank those encounters are going to be pushovers and the guild won't learn how to work together. He should be trying content for his level range not content for lvl 60s from 6 years ago. I also mentioned stuff to get better geared such as DoDH tasks, GoD Progression, DoN missions, and MPG Trials. Maybe you should have finished reading my post.

What he is saying is that they maybe 65 to 70 but are probably equiped like lvl 60 chars. With on average 100 aa's, they will not beable to do a mpg trial and probably not dodh missions. I don't know the GoD progression for I was from a small guild also that had the same problems. Form them right now DoN missions with crystals and the chance for gm armor is the best for them atm. But once they have several pieces of gm armor(if not all of it), and a few more aa's for defensive's, they could then try DoDH missions and possibly MPG trials.

The big mistake you're making is assuming that the people in question are all veteran raiders and have already nailed down group and raid roles. Nothing is more frustrating than spending hours putting together an event only to find out that youre not only unequipped, but not experienced enough to take on certain raid targets. Small raids are an essential endeavor to form a sense of accomplishment and group cohesion, and only add to the overall game experience. The worst mistake you can make as a raid leader is to introduce your guild to a series of unrealistic and overly difficult series of raids. It's all about having fun and celebrating guild accomplishments, and thus, it's best to practice on targets that not only present a challenge, but have a decent chance of success.

Take your time and enjoy the game. If you're more into the status of a raid-kill than the actual sense of group accomplishment, you're never going to be satisfied.

Lirah the Bridgekeeper or Tiorpat Tornwing in RCoD would be good raid targets for small raid/average gear peeps - and you should get a few runes as a bonus. Slavedriver Menlo, Drarakon the Mad or Alpha Feran in NC aren't bad. Shadowhunter or Discordling Warfiend in WoS. Also Emoush isn't too hard a hit if you have someone up to t2 don progression that can request it. There is a few nice GoD zones to hit like Ferubi, chock full of nameds which require a reasonable force to overcome. The named mobs in arcstone for that evolving cloak usually take a small raid to overcome, some are easier than others.

Some of these hits aren't considered raid hits because decently geared peeps can do then with a group or less, but average-geared peeps shouldn't have too many problems with most of these mobs with 3ish groups. The most important thing is to get experience working together as a raid anyway, and getting some decent gear too.

Goodluck =)

Kael for the Avatar of War is a good start, also Vindi and King Tormax. Other notables are nameds in Akheva Ruins, I remember raiding there a few years ago and believe its doable for 2-3 groups starting out. The loot isn't amazing, but if your more concerned about working fundamentals of raiding, those targets, along with the BoT towers and ToV's Halls of Testing are a good place to practice them (CC, pulling, balancing push, etc).

Also as mentioned, Thought Horror Overfiend is a good target, or the Burrower Parasite (maybe once you've got some experience under your belt, or with a few more people). Also, some named in Ssra Temple are decent too, XtC and Cursed cycle comes to mind.

When we started we were doing Luclin stuff as well. Rumblecrush, Doomshade and Vius in AR. Oh also Zelnithiack in Umbral. A bit smaller still there is Radir and ... the frosty one.

Those 3 will help you learn to deal with high DPS, high hitpoints (AC) and curing blindness. Vius will teach you about the importantance of positioning.

Start small and work your way up. Better winning a small event then going on to the next, then throwing yourself endlessly at a hard one.

Halls of Honour
Paffa (in COD)
AD in POV
Mujaki in PON
Spiderqueen in PoD (and Gryme to get the key)
Grummus past that.
Manaetek Behemoth is ok but needs some bigger numbers.
PoS quest for BOT access (pop progression key) has you killing some tough guys

These are a bunch of lame old world targets that net nothing for those people raiding, Try Menlo and the School leader in Nobles Causway, then look at doing the Furious Jailer, flight of the Seeker in Dodh,2-3 groups can make it through him and get some nice stuff,

Maybe some of these suggestions don't drop uber l00t and maybe some fights will be over in 15 minutes or less, but they do net something - enjoyment. If it's fun then it's worth it. Personally I would have a blast in ToV or Luclin zones. If they try AoW or Nadox Inny or the Cursed Cycle and they are bored and don't have fun then they can move up to the tougher suggestions, so those raids are worth mentioning here also.

From my point of view as a causal-geared player there isn't much trivial listed in this thread - meaning we're not likely to get a pick-up group of 60's-70's we haven't met before and automatically win the fights. There is at least some planning involved. Well there are few posters here who we all know actually could win all the fights listed in this thread with the help of just one or two picked-up folks, but we're not talking about that level of play I think.

Wow, some of these suggestions really make it evident some people are out of touch with the low-end game.

There's no way a bunch of inexperienced, poorly geared people are going to 2-3 group Ikkinz trials. Maybe after they were sporting Qvic gear, sure. About the only other way they could accomplish this prior to Qvic level gear is GM armour for all, fully auged with DoN augs of the highest lvl possible.

Now then, some of the lower end, 24-person DON raids should be an excellent source of experience and gear. As well, these people should already be working on DON missions, acquiring crystals, and buying their class specific DoN gear. An added bonus are the higher end raids with some high-quality gear like Circle of Drakes (assuming they can find someone flagged that high who can get the mission for them).

They can probably look to doing the tier 1 armours in PoR (Arcstone). The rares aren't particularly difficult to kill or find, especially now PoR isn't the newest expansion.

As well, contrary to the clueless poster jabbering on about the uselessness of ToV raids, let me say an Abashi staff from Vulak (no longer a ring event, but you should kill all N ToV named before engaging him) would easily be an upgrade for any monk these people might have. In addition, the N ToV raids may very well provide click or worn effects these people need, in addition to some halfway decent haste items (better than bazaar bought haste items), and they should be able to run through N ToV in a single weekend afternoon without too much concern for class composition.

Yxtta Primals are an idea if they have almost filled out on DON class armours.

I wager they will need better weapons and gear for their MT(s). A nice aggro weapon, a bit better than the DoN axes, would be the Bloodfrenzy from SSRA. Perhaps, if interested, they could continue through SSRA progression into VT, which also have a lot of nice worn effects on gear that isn't anything to sneeze at, and isn't beyond the abilities of 2-3 grps of poorly geared people. Another aggro weapon is the Blade of the Eclipse coming from a duoable/soloable rare (single grp for poorly geared people) in Stoneroot. On many servers this sword still sells for good cash so it may very well be a nice camp for their entire guild to fund things like GM armour for all.

Once they've done all this I wager easy DoDH missions will be wholly doable (prior to this I doubt their MT(s) would have enough hp to get missions done to farm gear to any great degree). If they can eventually work up to the hard level missions, or find people willing to sub them in prior to the cursor loot being awarded, they can then upgrade themselves a nice amount.

Now then, assuming they manage to farm a decent amount of gear from DoDH, they should be able to do Ikkinz 1-3 given enough effort and perseverance. However, I don't recommend this. Instead they may want to look at flagging their 2-3 groups for ToB access. Those flagging missions have some nice chest loot, and ToB itself has visible slot gear equivalent (and in some cases superior to) Qvic gear. The only problem with ToB for a small number of people is the need for a healer in each grp with grp heals as some of the trash MOBs have powerful AEs that could drop lower-geared folks very quickly.

All that should keep 2-3 grps of people pretty busy for a nice, long time. Long enough, in fact, that 1 to 3 more expansions will be released with more advancement opportunities for them to explore, assuming they do not become some sort of hardcore, 3-6 hours a day, every day raiders.

if I was you I would spend some time doing some Ldons.. getting the 1480 gear... or if you can try the DoDH spell missions... they will gear you very well...they are not all that hard.... and the gear is pretty nice for non-raiders.. if you have TSS the last expansion... head over to stepps... the first spider-cave and do the quest called : web of coursity) has a nice back item for casters... a lvl 58 necro can solo all but the last mob... the cape has like 120 hp/ 120 mana... and spell haste 5 on it i think.. need a group to kill the last mob... also will there pull and kill the gob cook... this will take a group... he hits hard.. and pretty fast..
---------
but the DoDh spell missions / DoN groups for gear..
also DoNs are good to do.. and do the quest to get higher up on the factions for DoN... once you have done enough of the DoNs. then look for the mission ( circle of Drakes) drops some nice items and a 165 HP aug... and a caster neck item...

once you have done these then your pretty much good for some higher scale mobs.. as far as melee.. gear... the best I know of is the GM gear... aug'd out

I would also consider doing the bridgekeeper... which is a somewhat fun raid once you have ti down... it is 100% a range fight... roll up on the bridge... get your best geared pally... as the MT... his job is to do nothing but stun the hell out of the bridgekeep and be ready to LOH himself... need a lot of rangers and pet classes... make a small group of nothing the following ( this group will be for the adds from behind the raid as they wander up the bridge )
this group should just wait for the mob to walk up the bridge... wait for it to come to you.. pally or sk for tank slower , bard or chanter ) keep the 2 mobs at base of the bridge dead) the rest of raid should kill the bridge keeper... have a cleric cast HOT on the pally.. the pally step off the bridge and start stunning the hell out of the bridge keeper... 2 adds will come running... have a second pally pick up one.. and mezz ,root offtank the other... have your second tank... also a pally cast a few heals on the Main pally to set up argo incase your MT died... the MT ( pally ) will never hit the bridge keeper .. the bridgekeeper is rooted in place.. just keep stunning him and do a CH rot on the pally .. all pet classes send in pets... they will have to chain cast pets.. rangers Bow the heck out of him... your pally will have to set up a hot key in /rs that says something along the lines of GET OFF THE BRIDGE... and a second on the say /rs OK attack NOW... as he does some type of an AE on anyone standing on the wooden part of the bridge... once the pally says /rs ok attack him now.. wizards casters pet people run on the bridge cast spells... send pets and get back to the stone part of the bridge...

the bridgekeeper drops a nice sword and a bow and some other things if i remember right...

but there are lots of easy targets out there that will gear you.. I would also consider doing the 1.5 raids... pick a class and start on them.. I would suggest the clerics... once they have the 1.5 a chest pops and the gear from the chest is also nice
