I said drowned citizen. I'm sure others are more spooky to look at, but they were actually the spookiest for me ingame... it was rough finding myself as a level 8 woodelf ranger wandering around the sewers and seeing these guys way back in the day...

The people-driven toons are easily the scariest thing about this game.

Back in 1999 when my char was a wee youngster, I was working my way through Unrest late at night, all alone. Suddenly, around the corner came a ghost wielding an axe! Needless to say, I quickly found myself back at my bind spot. Definately one of my scariest and most fun moment! I voted the ghosts of Unrest.

I voted Other.

The Kyvs of GoD n' Omens are the creepiest looking things to ever hit EQ.

It was actually kinda hard for me to decide on this one. I would hate to have the nightmares of the folks who come up with these!

I always thought the most freaky-looking mob was Grummus in PoD. He's more revolting than spooky, but he's just so goddamn fat and ugly and rotting:

(Pictures are of Gryme, who looks the same as Grummus. I just think the pictures of him on this site are better than the Grummus pictures.)

Not that the other pictures don't have their merits but the most truly scariest thing in game is a Necro who does Wake The Dead and doesn't advertise it. Talk about an adreniline rush when you think you just avoided a wipe and all of a sudden 3 mobs you thought where dead pop up and surround your Tank and your dropping a load off in your pants...

Now that is truly SCARY!

Nothing holds a candle to Serra. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the spookiest, dead children who don't know there dead and ask for their dolly and or mommy (Lucinda) are a 52.

The scariest thing in all of Everquest is a Female Troll on a CR IMHO :)

While I found my first encounter with the drowned citizens spooky, they were green to me at the time so they were not scary.
I had the same experience as Mandie in unrest. The ghost came out of nowhere, bam! Loading please wait. Now that was scary.
However the one that first frightened me was the undead guardians in the aquaduct of qeynos. Lost a body on that death, when my mage was level 12.

mad mary-ann for me. just that castle with the gargoyles and the entire setting of it all adds to the creepiness of it. i'd have to not have any caffiene that evening if i was to raid that area.

dound = found.. so scared i cant even type anymore !

I think the new look the zombies have are really creepy. I got my first look at them in the MM "Braains!" But they have the same look as the Drowned Citizens. Where are those?
