Sometimes you can really tell and other times just a few nice questions will give away what you are dealing with. I have seen some of the outrageous questions being posed in OOC. After a short conversation you'll know if they are full of it or not.

The other thing that has gotten my attention is the two box scammers in POK. One mid 20's character and like a level 10 or 11 asking for plat for a rez in the Guild hall. The last time the guys was asking me for 200 plat and funny enough for a Level 51 is only like 130 or so. Nice try.... go find a new sucker and wait for the GM to come and hunt you down.

An ebayed toon, means to me, simply that it was previously owned and then sold or traded or given away. Ebay does not allow the auctioning of EQ items or accounts, but yet, the term "ebayed" stuck. And more often than not, this term is reserved for the mid-high level player who has gaps in knowledge specific to their race/class; otherwise known as, newbie (aka noob, aka newby; I prefer noob, myself).

Does it? I thought there was some litigation a few years ago.

I know Sony is legitimizing it now by opening a new EQ2 server that allows and facilitates RL transactions. But that is the only (legal) way.

No, this is not 'slipping thru the crack' stuff. Go to Ebay right now and do a search for Everquest accounts - you can have your pick of toons to buy.

I'm guessing what Ebay now requires is that you clearly state in your description that you are selling the TIME that you spent creating and equipping this toon that BELONGS exclusively to SOE.
