Train to ZoneFollow

Craziest training I've ever seen was during the Dreadlands War. If you survived 15 minutes in Dreadlands without getting a train of 20 mobs it was a miracle.

Hello All:
Just wanted to add my "Crazy Train" story here cuz I'm still shocked when I think about it today.

My group and I were in the 30's and decided to go to Crystal Caverns to level up. Everyone knows what CC is like if you aren't careful. lolol We wanted to hit the Geo Run and "sneak" past the Ry Gorr. Well, someone in our group decided that it would be easy to just make ourself invisible and use levitate to float down the well to the bottom floor and out back to Geo Run. About 1/2 way down the well the invisible starts to fail on everyone and the Ry Gorr are comming out in numbers. My entire group was seperated and everyone was just trying to make it to the zone line or find a place to hide. I had about 12 Orcs chasing me and barely managed to escape. When my group managed to get outside we were all talking about "how to do things better next time" and I had to laugh when my 1 of my group members said he was "run over" by a train of 25 Orcs who didn't even stop to look at him because they were too busy chasing everyone. I have no idea how he survived that!!!!!

Happy Hunting ~!!!!

This is more of a "Damm I'm Bored" train ..

Every once and awhile, I go to Misty, and FluxStaff every Creature on the West Side of the Wall and run them to Northern Orc Camps, then Cast off a Very nasty AE .. Takes about 15 minutes to clean up the mess .. (I think it's like 40+ Goblins/Drows/Orcs/Spiders/etc on the Run)

hehe ... Damm I'm Bored .. Think I'll go nuke the zone ..

I once saw a video of a sick train from the old PoHate.
There was about every bone-dragon on the zone along with maybe half the first floor at least.

In the middle of everything there was a cleric trying to camp out, but he got hit like every 25th second =)

Anyone remember this and have a link to it?

I also recall a video from ToV, where there was like 5+ dragons in a pile, swinging at everyone and everything. Lost link to that as well =(

I play a Ranger and have no idea what this train thing you are talking about. =)

To be honest 90% of the trains that have killed me were not of my making but from a monk running up going Train and FD. =/

I think my biggest train ever was just before the DoN release there was a war going on in the Dreadlands and there were quite a few deaths so I helped keep the ZL clean by training the army advancing, not sure how many I had at once, but I think it hit in the 200 range at times (25 per grouping of them and I kept adding more groups) Have a picture of one group, though smallish compared, on my magelo. Didn't have the time to capture larger ones

i seen a few of these big trains (they semi stoped by time i reached tov lvls) was on tholuxe paells server. the top 2 guilds would train the holy crap out of each other to get mobs. well needless to say after about 4 or 5 months of this stuff (including lagging the zone to force LDs and stuff like that) (man sanctuary spell is $$ for that back in the day). the gms finally got involved and told everyone in the 2 guilds that if either of them are in zone at same time, or either of them train each other again, or (for about 2 weeks) who ever entered tov in either of the guilds would have there accounts banned forever. lol was great entertainment.

One night while pulling raid named in PoFire, me and the other monks were thinking of other ways to pull the mobs so someone had the idea to just agro EVERYTHING in the yard including named and then have another monk tag the named off and just pull. Enough is said.

Another time was when my guild was farming rallos zek for BoW's and another guild was still trying to kill Rallos for Elemental access. So the other guild was there first and my guild came in to leap them since they had about 20 people there and not enough to attempt rallos with. Well instead of both raids cleaning trash we just kept jumping in front of one another to the trigger mobs. eventually the other guild pulled the trigger with all mobs so my guild all evaced to zone in with the 50 or so mobs on the 20 people. Gms' were called in for that one it was fun stuff

The magical rogue pull:
NPCs do not assist against a PC they cannot see..hence, if you aggro a mob and then become invisible, he will chase you through rooms full of his friends, if necessary, without any of them ever caring, provided your invis doesn't drop, of course.
Rogue pulling works by casting a spell (Such as cancel magic on their kunark gloves) and hiding before it finishes casting. Long casting times are your friend. The truly daring can try it with a thrown or other projectile attack as well. Done properly, this can be used to make some truly impressive single pulls.
Well, after a recent patch, this stopped working properly. Although it was still truly impressive when I zoned into a Mistmoore LDoN, commenced the Magical Rogue Pull....and miraculously gained aggro from -every single NPC in the zone- which rushed the party in one enormous, never ending wave of OMFGWTFGTFO.
...I haven't been brave enough to try to reproduce this feat, either in LDoN or otherwise.

This one is second hand, and I don't remember the details, but I remember hearing in serverwide.cleric from the archon who was sacrificed on an (Uqua, I think?) raid when a random mob came tearing around a corner at high speed during a med break, raced through a room full of PCs, ************ one cleric, turned around, and zipped back to spawn before anyone could react.
The raid took a 15 minute recess for the guild to compose themselves again enough to function.
Not exactly a train, but it seemed to fit...

Back on Vallon Zek, when Luclin was new and Maiden's Eye was the place to be, the tunnel from DSP to Maiden's Eye was a constant train/pvp hell on both sides. People running in to fight the darks trying to come in. Mobs following them. People running from UP or AR just training that tunnel in general. There was no survival solo in that tunnel, you just had to banzai thru it and hope you made it to the next zoneline...

My favorite ever running for a zoneline experience was in Kael Drakkel, fighting the Statue of Rallos Zek. We were all on giant faction (darks on Vallon Zek) so you COULD move about the zone, and only the agro/chain agro would chase you...if something went wrong on the pull /attempt, logging or running for the zoneline were the options...

Uradis and I were running for the zoneline, Statue hot on our tails...

Uradis tells the group "I'm right behind you Toucan"
Uradis has been slain by the statue of Rallos Zek
Loading please wait....(zoneline)

once again proving that you don't have to outrun the Statue, you just have to outrun your friends :)

Fancy wasn't big on train size, rather train quantity. He is a classic example of how to make training look good though.

A little off topic here, but...

I'm happy to see the side effect of this thread. It looks like it has encouraged a lot of the regular reader-onlys to post. Now, if those reader-onlys would post more often, these forums would come alive again!

I know I trolled the forums without posting for a year or 2 before I started posting regularly myself, so I can see how it can be intimidating to get involved in a community that can at times seem very harsh. For all those "reader-onlys" out there that haven't been posting much, if at all, wether it be because you're nervous of the reaction you'll recieve or because you might feel you don't really have anything to contribute or whatever reason you may have, I encourage you to go ahead and test the waters! It's nice seeing all the new names, but if you don't post more then once every 6 months, it's going to be hard to remember who you are. Just as in the game, these forums are about the community.

lets see my lvl 31 bard decided to goto BlackBurrow and help out a guild mate with fear. The mobs got to close and i threw up fear sending the mobs running. Guild mate then picks them off at his leasure. He decided to log and left and i had never been there before and was curious about the zone so i go wandering through and forgot to turn off fear. I didnt realize this until i got back down to the main entrance from EF and turned around to see the entire zone chasing me....needless to say i made another round and warned everyone to zone before i hit a zoneline myself hehe

Most memorable here was during PoEarth rings....we where doing the VIne ring and where set up on the Dusty Temple....when someone pulled Dusty warder, I had just enough time after calling attack on the nearest F8 mob to realize what it was before it died and spawned the dust event on our heads

OMG, That dragon train was even better than the AC train picture.

Thats insane.

Here's my train story.

This one happened only a few weeks ago. We were in Chardok for Epic pieces (prince's head for me - Enc and King's scroll for a friend - CLR)

So we get up to the Kings hallway right by the library and we forget to snare one of the things we are killing. So he bolts off into the library. Everyone stops and goes OMG, everyone invis, FD, clerics CAMP NOW.

I kept thinking, Whats in there?

Well I soon found out.

Out comes the biggest gaggle of Sarnak's i'd ever seen. It was crazy. Enthusiest, acolytes, etc. There had to be about 50 mobs in that hall way. Most of us died, but a few of us made it. Somehow, we got the train under control and made it to the king in one piece.

Best train quantity I have ever done was when I was a newbie in BoT. I had my roommate friend take me to his group at south wing teleport pad camp. We were camping Gaukr Sandstorm. We killed it, he left shortly after and I stayed in the group for some EXP.

Well finally the group broke up. I could not gate. The group left without asking if I knew how to leave. This being my first time in BoT, I did not know how to use the teleporter pads. I was looking north away from the teleporter then turned around to notice everyone was gone!

The only way I knew how to leave was the way I came in. It was late at night and every spawn point was up. So I ran out! I brought every giant from south wing to the entrance! I made it out only beacause I had Spirit of Eagle on!

For everyone who thinks there was a level cap for a zone there NEVER was! There is minimum level requirements on zones. You know Plane of Fear? well when EQ was first released the minimum level to enter was 1. Then later it was raised to 46. Further setting the minimum for all planes.

The only cap is the highest level you could attain at the time. You can enter any zone at level 60 when Kunark was released provided you are keyed. Every time the level cap was raised you could enter any zone at the max level keyed or flagged.

LOL Those are some great stories.

I think the largest train I ever pulled was when I was heading to Dulak Harbor to solo for my Healing waters spell, heading through Gunthak and invis dropped at the edge of the beach, soooo lol I had the entire beach and all thru the tunnel as well as the little village area before the dulak zone in training behind me....
Not pretty but I made it

This timed out shaman was practicly PLing me and a few others in BoT. Some one suggested that we should move about to find some named to make things a bit more interesting.
The shaman invised us and we went up the hall way opposing the stairway. As we reached a safe spot in the corner of a room with a teleporter, we all took off invis and were geting ready to pull.
Sure enough, one of us was missing. Another genius ranger was running through the hall way with a giant tale of van militis. He runs towards us, gets hit a few times, runs to the teleporter and gets safely taken to i-have-no-idea-where. We were left with about 10 van militis and a named that was sitting in front of the teleporter.
We ran for our dear lives, but to all avail,
You have been summoned by a van militis...
You have lost a level! You are now level 64!
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..
The shaman quit the group and we commensed cussing at the ranger. Sure enough, he said, "what? it's not my fault! I didn't know!" Which now reminds me of this << click it (LLEEERROOOYY JEEENNNKKIINNSS)

Haha, Leroy Jenkins rocks. One of my guildies made a techno song with clips from that movie. It really is hilarious. It was kind of saddening when I found out it was setup, but it's still fun to watch.

Best train i ever saw was actually a glitch..lemme see, how do i explain the way this looked. ahh, you know when you beat solitare on the computer and the cards bounce around leaving trails.. I was in Abyssal Lords, an all dark guild from Tallon Zek, at the time..on my sk Childeater (gm's changed my name to childhates /bird). Anyways, we are on our way to kill Grieg and as we zone in from DSP we see a mass of corpses right at the zone line..i mean, back in the PK hayday before pok when you would go to crushbone to find a lil action there would be a blanket of corpses on the ground as if bodies were leaves off a great tree who has had its last leaf fall. the zone in to griegs was a lot like that..so we peak around the corner..all looks good, just our guildies in zone probably 4-5 groups of us (we were still workin our way up and were the only real all dark raid guild on the server at the time). so we were just gonna start plowing through the mobs like usual only when we pull the first mob...remember what i said about the cards when you win in solitare..the mob does that, turns out the zone in mob had been spawning on top of itself for god knows how long or how fast, all i know is most if not everyone on the raid dropped pretty much instantly when what looked like a few hundred mobs hit us.. if i had blinked i would have missed it, it was the worlds worst domino effect on fast forward.

also, this isn't a bad train by any means..but do you remember when oasis was THE exp spot in yer teens? and people would train the spectres on the doc? well, that was me...lol j/k i was one of the people laying next to you ; )

here is another that will bring back fond memories...the old plane of hate, ever have someone sit up a lil to far on the wall and agro what must have been the whole next floor? *giggle* hate use to be crazy, now its a nerf bunny shaped pillow compared to back then..just the trains that would happen at the zone in were bad enough.
