I believe the servers are down this morning for some network upgrades. There was also a patch yesterday. The servers were up yesterday evening, so you should have been able to log on then.

What server are you on?

All EverQuest servers will be down from 4am PDT until 6am PDT on Thursday, 5/12/2005 for network maintenance.

On May 12th at 6:00 AM PDT (-7 UTC), Quellious will merge with Rodcet Nife and will retain the name Quellious. The Estimated downtime for the merge is 10 hours.
they need a new clock, seems to be later then what they said

Because the majority of their playerbase don't get to play during the daytime? Maintenance HAS to be done on occasion. If no maintenance is ever done, things become unuseable. In order to have the smallest impact on the playerbase, they start the updates in the early morning US hours. Unfortunately for you, you're in the minority.

Seeing as how they started this at 4am (they're in San Diego or somewhere close by) I would have to say they do have "overnighters" working diligently. The problem is that somehow they can't seem to allocate the $4 million/month we give them in subscription dues properly. Instead of overworking 3-4 peeps on this maintenence, put 8 on it. Just my 2cp. . . FLAME ON!!

Since they broke a lot of things with yesterdays patch this does not surprise me.

I consider this to be the first patch to the patch.

Back in the Luclin days, I was wont to point out how they always had to run an emergency patch after a major expansion or patch, and there were often lots of little unannounced periods of downtime.

Or, as I put it, the pre-post-patch post-patch pre-patch patch.
