I don't know about most memorable but last night's death was truely fun.
I wanted to take my level 23 Shadowknight to South Karana to play at the birdhouse. One of my Guildmates listed a long run as a route.
Another Guildmate, a Druid, offered to teleport me to North Karana to shorten the trip. Raise your hand if you see what is coming.....

We port in and things are looking good, then I turn and notice all the Druids around, looking at me. A quick series of cons tells me they are 'Threatening'. Hmm.... don't move..
That is when the treant walked by. Next thing I know my pet is fighting the treant and the druids are running at me. RUN AWAY!!!!
About 6 of them caught me and made an LAPD training film outta me. The last thing I saw before the ever popular "Loading Please Wait...' was my Guildmate telling me "I can't fight them, I'll lose faction!"
My friend was concerned and apologetic, I was too busy laughing and explaining what happened in guildchat.

It all worked out, got a 96%rez AFTER having my corpse dragged away from the druid ring. I'm still laughing about it this morning.

Death is a learning XP.

My baby bard learned what an AOE spell is, and not to sing it TO THE GUILDMASTER. Poof. Dead bard.

Brownies in the Faydark. Never saw it coming, still don't know what the h&^% hit me!

Learned about faction by walking a half-elf past some Iksar guards. Had to have an Iksar guildie come drag my corpse.

Get an attitude adjustment... don't think of it as a corpse run, consider it quickey quest with some really uber loots.

I have to say that death was one of my favorite parts about EQ. The CR, on the other hand. *heh*

Some of my favorite ones:

Being a troll SK first time in Fear, supposed to be pulling. Death touch after death touch until they finally had a monk start doing it. Sitting around naked, bound in Ogguk, /randoming for weird crap in the bank with guildies so much fun. Probably my first official guild raid, back on Xev.

Most memorable, period. Getting a mistell -- a rather shocking one -- when I was in the middle of a raid as a shaman. Was supposed to slow, back off, the usual. Hit the slow key, repeatedly, saying "Oh my god..." I was quickly summoned and killed. Made a life-long friend that day, and something to laugh at for a long, long time.

Drowning in Surefall, losing my glowing wooden crook and 50pp. Thinking it was the end of the world, that I'd never get that kind of stuff back.

A blur of many deaths from pulling when I'd be pulling a dozen or so mobs and realize with a sinking feeling I was lost.

Stupid, typical stuff like putting on lich on the necro and going afk, to find I had been killed again because I had bound in a stupid place.

Leaving bear bodies everywhere in Norrath thanks to donated fishing grubs (thanks Shoh ;)) was the best part of dying, I think, other than laughing at my own stupidity. Oh, and the tells I'd get. Made me realize there were tons of nice clerics out there. But they were destined to find me after the rez timer expired.

Fell into the The Pit once around level 30. Surprisingly, took no damage. So sitting there asking guildies what the deal is, they had no clue. Guild leader said I should have died and was surprised I didnt. Had no idea since this was a new zone to me. So I am sitting there staring at a Named who is threating to me and nowhere else to go cause the door is locked, and surprise, surprise I dont have they key. A couple of my Guildmates jumped in and both died. So now I am sitting there with a named and a couple corpses. Finally in order to get out, the guild recruited a Necro to summon corpses and I just attacked the Named to intionally die. First and only time I ever intenionally died.

I remember the time my young druid was fighting rodents in Rivervale. I just bought a new Hail spell and thought that I'll be able to kill rats fast and make some quick silver!

As soon as I unleash the spell, the guards and guildmasters attack me and I am dead a second later. That's how I learned what AOE is.

My most memorable death would be raiding Xanamech Nezmirthafen in PoI(mechanical dragon). I didn't die by him, but by another mob that ravaged 1/2 the raid, 'Junk Beast'. It was the weirdest thing I'd ever seen in game. The leader said to not attck him and to just let him kill us. I guess he wanted us to wait for someone to lure him away.

The raid was a big success. I got to tank the dragon from 40-0%, my first time being MT for a raid(because the other two tanks, before me, died).

But, when it came time to roll on loot, the only other warrior there(lvl 51) got the winning roll on the Cord Hilted Spike Driver http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=16391
EDIT;FUNNY:
I spoted a dwarf, berzerker, friend of mine in PoK and decided to mess with him. I got infront of him and bent over puting my virtual *** in his face. He quickly noticed and said "Hey! Get your *** out of my face!" I ignored his demand and as he moved about, I did my best to keep my *** in his general line of vision. Finally, he offered a duel. Him being only five levels higher than me(59 and 64), I accepted. We went to netherbian lair(because aparently you cant fight in PoK OR Nexus) and went at it.
He was VERY strong, I remember him showing off his fabled gear when we were in the low 50s. Although, very impressive, his gear didn't help him in the least bit untill we were both at about 20% and he realised that he had been disarmed for about a minute and a half. Unfortunetly I lost the duel, but he lost experience because one of my weapons(ichorflow) has a DOT proc that got the best of him. I was histarical when he told me that he died too. His brothers were in the room too, I hope they dont let him live it down.

Prob my most memorable death was when I was exploring with a friend in Lesser Faydark back in the early days. We were chilling on the road and one of those Brownie's walked by (level 50 I think) and we scampered out of the way. Well me and friend started goofing around and he did a emote to say he farted the brownie's direction and then suddenly we were dead.

As of that very moment, I thought emote's aggroed mobs :)

Boy I had a lot to learn about aggro radius.

Had a couple of them with my paladin.

Back when I was level 10 or so I was wandering around Butcherblcok looking for a new camp to hunt in. I also had some high level buffs a couple of nice players had lent me. I came accross a camp of "crazed goblins". Oh, a nice little camp outta the way. Yeah they con red, but they cant be THAT much higher than me. Besides I have all these cool buffs. Auto attack on. Whack, crack, splat. Managed to run about halfway to a guard house before they got me though. First discovery that no buffs can help you solo a mob 15 levels higher than you at that point in the game.

Another was back working on my Temple of Ro armor in the 30s. Needed some mistmoore granite from the castle. Pacied my way all the way to the castle door. Had a paci fail and got smacked by multiple mobs. Thankfully a high level group was xping in the castle, otherwise I was in for a nasty CR.

Fastforward to the 50s. Running around in PoK not paying much attention and accidently jump into the fishing pool on the west side of zone. Being a dwarf, I cant get out. OK, I can get someone to port me out, but thats embarrasing. I have rezz, so I figure Ill drown myself, drag my body out and rezz. Well, after dying I go back to try and target my corpse and drag it out, but it wont let me target my body. Oh great. So now, instead of /oocing for a port out of the pool, im oocing for a corpse recovery in PoK. Needless to say, I got a LOT of ribbing in ooc over that.

In my mid 50s I 3boxed my shaman, SK and cleric into Fear to "explore". I was not nor had I ever been in a guild, so I had no one to ask for help. I had to spam in auction like the newb that I was and beg people to help =) Took 2 guilds, about 20 dead druids, and about 20 hours (called in sick to work) to get my silly corpses out. At that time my Fungi was my most prized possession and I had just paid 19k for it in EC, my entire eq savings from hours in EC. Was literally sick to my stomach thinking it would rot.

I must have died 15 times between all three accounts. What I remember most about this though was when an enchanter finally joined in the fun. I was amazed, for I had never seen an 'end level (60 at the time) enchanter do his thing.
