My friend and I want to start some alt characters, and we want to be two classes that compliment each other really well. The only two I can think of are necro+druid. What other good combos are there?

Thanks

Come on, boom, was it really necessary to bump this? Especially with a reply that was nothing but damn near spam anyways?

since it's been bumped and all...

Think if I were ever to raise up another duo team in EQ I might try Ranger/Shammy.

Some of the successful combos I have used are:

Necro/Ranger: The ranger snares, initially, and after the necro gets aggro, acts as another DoT more or less. I did the Hand Aug tasks in TBS using this combo, and it was very effective.

Ranger/Cleric: Obvious reasons.

Ranger/Shammy: Already been mentioned.

Druid/Necro: Extremely fast killing.

Druid/Chanter

Pally/Cleric: Undead dont stand a chance.

Druid/Mage

Beastlord/Shammy: Already been mentioned.

By far the funnest combo I have used is the Ranger and Shammy, followed closely by the Ranger and Cleric. Mostly because I enjoy playing the Ranger so much. I would suggest you find which class floats your boat the most, then find a class that supports it the best in your opinion.

I'm suprised that no one mentioned Mage/Shaman in any serious light. Both classes have pets (to keep mobs at a happy distance), but a mage pet is completely capable of tanking, and tanking WELL. Add Champion or Panther (or ~drool~ shammy 2.0 click) to the mix, you now have essentially 2 melees proccing the Shams procs and 2 casters doing insane damage. Plus the shammy heals are just PERFECT for mage pets, plus slows. If you do a troll shammy, and get the snare click... well even better.

And the best part? You don't have to really run 2 toons all over Norrath. Mage: Call of the Hero incoming to MR. SHAMMY you will not evade me!.

Plus pet toys, utility summoned clicks (shammy invis sucks), summoned focus effect jewelry, the BADDEST pet in game, and SICK damage shields.

And you can make Necros and Druids cry little tiny tears of woe: You can kill mobs that summon. At will.

I would SERIOUSLY look into this combo.

Their is little argument that Shaman/Monk or Shaman/Berserker is one of the best duo setups available, whats more argued is which one of the two setups is better.

The Shaman offers buffs, heals, haste, slow, DPS and minor CC.

The Monk offers high DPS, tanking(avoidance) and pulling.

The Berserker offers high DPS, tanking(mitigation) and snares.

The disputed part comes from the Monks ability to pull vs. the Berserkers ability to snare and the whole avoidance vs. mitigation debate.

I ran a Berserker/Shaman duo and a guild member ran a Monk/Shaman duo. Both of us could find more then plenty of places to hunt but when we got together their was little that stood in out way.

The most I have been having is my level 75 druid teamed with a friends 79 mage. We are killing minos in DSH really really fast. Mage pulls lets pet get aggro. I snare mob heal/regen/skin the pet. MAge DS's and we both nuke. Not as fast but almost effective is replacing my druid with a ranger.
